Ingredients


  • Soya chunks ( medium or big size) : 18- 20 pieces
  • Capsicum(chopped) : 1 big
  • Garlic chopped : 2 tbl spoon
  • Onion chopped :1 medium size
  • Spring onion : 2 tbl spoon
  • Carrot chopped :1 small
  • Back paper : 2 tbl spoon
  • Lemon juice : 2 tbl spoon
  • Vinegar : 1 tbl spoon
  • Soya sauce : 4 tbl spoon
  • Red wine (optional): 1 tea spoon
  • Tomato sauce : 2 tbl spoon
  • Red chilli sauce :1 tbl spoon
  • Chilli flakes (optional) : 1/2 tbl spoon OR green chilli chopped :1 tbl spoon
  • Cornflour : 2.5 tbsp spoon
  • Plain flour : 2 tbsp spoon
  • Salt : as per salt
  • Hot water : 4 cups
  • Normal water : 3  cups
  • Oil : for deep fry
  • Oil : 1.5 tbsp spoon


Method

Soak 

  • Soak the soya chunks for 10 mins. wash with cold water and squeeze the excess water from the soya chunks.

Marination

  • In a bowl keep soya chunks, salt, soya sauce (1 tbsp spoon), red wine, black paper, salt, lemon juice. Mix all and keep aside for 6 to 7 mins.
  • Add cornflour (1 tbsp spoon) and plain flour with the above marination; mix everything properly and keep aside for 15 mins.
  • Heat oil and deep fry the soya chunks ( drop the chunks one by one) until golden brown. ( let me know in comment section if you are struggling in this step)
Sauce
  • In a bowl add remaining soya sauce, cornflour, chilli flakes, chilli sauce, tomato sauce, vinegar, black paper, red chilli sauce and give a good mix. 
  • Add chopped garlic and water and give a good mix  and keep aside.

Final Step

  1. Heat a wok (preferably) or a big pan .
  2.  Add oil, fry capsicum, carrot, onion and spring onion fry for 1 to 2 mins (make sure the veggies are crunchy) and keep it aside.
  3. Add the sauce mix (in the previous step) and stir until the sauce starts thickening (will take nearly 6 to 7 mins) .
  4. When the sauce started thickening add the fried soya chunks and mix for nearly 50 secs . Add the sauted veggies and cook for more 5 mins.
  5. Take out from cooking and rest the food for at least 30 mins (to soak the gravy) before serving.


Serve with soft steam rice and salad. Enjoy 😀.
