How to make Chittau Pan cake (Chitau Pitha)

Ingredients :

  • Raw rice - 3/4 cup
  • grated coconut - 2 cups
  • salt - as per taste
  • cooking oil - to make the pitha


Method :

  1. Wash and Soak rice for 5 to 6 hours. 
  2. Mix soaked rice with grated coconut and grind a smooth paste. Add salt as per the taste. Make the batter watery consistent (more watery than Dosa batter).
  3. Heat the pan (flat pan) and add 1/2 tea spoon cooking oil.
  4. Pour one ladle of batter into the pan and spread the batter( mostly 5 -6 cm diameter) to make the pitha. Cover the the lid for 2 mins and cook around 1 min.

Server with any spicy curry :-)
